Competition Categories

Junior Design

Max. 4 people per team
​Teams of students in their 1st or 2nd years will use basic knowledge of systems to design a creative and practical solution to a given engineering problem.​

Senior Design

Max. 4 people per team
​Teams comprised of students in their 3rd year or higher will be asked to solve a real-world engineering problem using  3D modelling software and simple code.​

Programming

Max. 4 people per team
​Students will use their knowledge
and coding skills to develop a
program that satisfies a given real world issue. This competition is
suited for those interested in computer science and wanting to develop new software skills.

Bio Engineering

Max. 2 people per team
​Students will apply bioengineering knowledge to suggest improvements to current treatment practices and work to solve a current healthcare problem.​

Consulting

Max. 4 people per team
Participants will be challenged to create theoretical solutions to engineering problems and will discuss the effects of these issues on society.​

Debate

Teams of 2 required
​While under a time
constraint, competitors will be asked to either support or oppose a given motion.

Innovative Design

Max. 6 people per team
​Meant for students in their final year, this competition requires participants to research and develop innovative designs to address problems in society and then present their findings.

Re-Engineering

Max. 2 people per team
​​Competitors will use creative and innovative ideas to redesign a preexisting product or process in order to improve its functionality and/or further its abilities.​

Communications

Max. 2 people per team
​In this presentation-based competition, participants will be judged on the content and delivery of their opinions on a given technical or nontechnical topic.
